Saxon & Black Star Riders
Legendary English heavy metal band Saxon will co-headline with Black Star Riders at City National Grove of Anaheim on Friday, April 20.
Since the 1970s Saxon has shown their ability to take rock ‘n’ roll and give it an electrifying edge which has since cemented their status as pioneers of the Britis heavy metal wave. With over twenty studio albums under their belt, Saxon has made their steadfast dedication to creating a dynamic body of a work a staple of their career.
Saxon isn’t wasting any time in 2018. Following the critically acclaimed release of ‘Battering Ram’ in 2015, the heavy metal giants released their latest studio album, ‘Thunderbolt,’ on February 2nd via the Militia Guard label (Silver Lining Music).
It was in 2012 that Black Star Riders was formed by four members of Thin Lizzy – Gorham, lead vocalist/guitarist Ricky Warwick, co-lead guitarist Damon Johnson and bassist Marco Mendoza – plus former Megadeth and Alice Cooper drummer Jimmy DeGrasso. The band’s debut album ‘All Hell Breaks Loose’ was released in 2013, and drew widespread acclaim in Classic Rock, MOJO, Metal Hammer and Kerrang!
February 2017 saw Black Star Riders release their third studio album ‘Heavy Fire’ to widespread critical acclaim. The album went on to gain worldwide chart success - reaching: #1 in the UK Rock and Indie charts, #3 in the UK Vinyl chart, #6 in the UK National chart, #11 in the German National chart, #6 in the USA Hard Rock chart, #22 USA Independent chart and #25 in the USA Rock chart.
