After performing to sold-out crowds in Fall 2009 to support his new album The Kinks Choral Collection, the iconic lead singer of The Kinks, Ray Davies returns to this side of the pond for a rare month-long tour. Feeding American audiences a hefty dose of Kinks hits including "You Really Got Me", "All Day And All Of The Night" and "Waterloo Sunset", Davies will also perform some of his solo work with Bill Shanley backing him on guitar.

Always one to stay busy, Davies recently recorded a duet with the legendary Chrissie Hynde entitled "Postcard From London." Caetano Veloso will open the award-winning Greek Theatre's 2010 season on Thursday, April 15.

Caetano Veloso is among the most influential and beloved artists to emerge from Brazil. Known there since the 1960's, Veloso has made more than thirty recordings to date and has developed a strong international following. Born in Santo Amaro, Bahia, in 1942, Caetano Veloso began his professional musical career in 1965 in Sao Paulo. In his first compositions he drew on the bossa novas of Joao Gilberto, but rapidly began to develop his own distinctive style. Absorbing musical and aesthetic ideas from sources as diverse as The Beatles, concrete poetry, the French Dadaists and the Brazilian modernist poets of the 1920s, Caetano, together with Gilberto Gil, Gal Costa, his sister Maria Bethania, and a number of other poets and intellectuals, founded a movement called Tropicalismo. By experimenting with new sounds and words, adding electric guitars to their bands and utilizing the imagery of modern poetry, Caetano became a musical revolutionary.

Although Tropicalismo set the tone for Caetano's career, his music has evolved greatly over the years. Incorporating elements of rock, reggae, fado, tango, samba canao, baiao and rap-- with lyrics containing some of the best poetry in a musical tradition rich in verse-- Caetano's music is sometimes traditional, sometimes contemporary, often hybrid. At once an astute social commentator and balladeer of highly emotive love songs, Caetano is one of the most respected poets in the Portuguese language. Indeed he is one of only a handful of artists who has resolved how to be musically modern and still undeniably Brazilian.

Recorded at Knopfler's award-winning British Grove Studios in West London, Get Lucky was co-produced with longtime collaborators, engineer Chuck Ainlay and keyboardist Guy Fletcher and featured Richard Bennett, Danny Cummings, John McCusker, Matt Rollings and Glenn Worf. The 11-track album explores a lifetime of musical roots exemplified by the title track. 'The first itinerant person I ever met would sing in soul bands in winter, then work part-time in fairgrounds or 'go pick fruit down south' when the weather turned warm,' explains Knopfler. 'I was about 15 years old, stuck in school and envious. 'Get Lucky' came from him and other traveling characters I went on to meet in places I'd find myself working short-term, like farms, warehouses, building sites, before I got lucky with my songs.'

All proceeds from the single 'Remembrance Day' will go toward The Poppy Appeal, which supports The Royal British Legion, a U.K. charity providing support to the serving and ex-service community and their dependents.

Fans who lined up last year to see the band mysteriously identified by a series of question marks will be happy to know that the newly named Yorke-led rock-band, Atoms For Peace, is about to appear on billboards around the nation. Yorke announced via the Radiohead website's http://www.radiohead.com/deadairspace/, that Atoms For Peace will play a series of eight U.S. shows in New York, Boston, Chicago, Oakland and Santa Barbara, leading up to its appearance at the Coachella Festival in Indio, CA.

Originally created to perform live tracks off Yorke's solo album, The Eraser, The Atoms For Peace lineup remains the same as when the band performed three shows in Los Angeles last October: Yorke, Flea, Mauro Refosco, Joey Waronker and Nigel Godrich.

In spite of their fresh union, the band played previous shows with tight execution and infectious exuberance leading Rolling Stone reviewer Matt Diehl to report, "The Eraser is the ultimate bedroom electronica opus, its synthetic beats influenced by dubstep and IDM starkly rhythmic. In the live setting, however, the songs, taken out of the computer realm by virtuoso musicians with such passion, suddenly became transformed into downright euphoria."

The birth of Straight No Chaser's life in the spotlight is a story of talent, drive, and some very good luck.  In the fall of 1996, Indiana University student Dan Ponce hand-picked ten friends to create the campus's first a cappella group and it wasn't long before the group was headlining concerts.  Within two years, they were touring nationally.  In April 2006, Indiana University hosted a reunion concert for the original members and posted clips from one of their 1998 concerts on YouTube to share with the other founding members. The concert footage that was nearly a decade old, with no promotion, received more than seven million views in December of 2007 alone, becoming the hottest viral video of the season.

The most successful French musical outfit of all time, Gipsy Kings, are set to return to the Greek Theatre on Sunday, July 18.

Over the years, the Gipsy Kings-who hail from the gypsy settlements in Arles and Montpelier in the south of France-have included singers and guitarists from the Reyes and Baliardo families. Lead singer Nicolas Reyes is the son of famed Flamenco singer José Reyes.  As a result, the band's vigorous guitar work and passionate vocals are highly influenced by the indigenous musical tradition known as rumba flamenca.

The Gipsy Kings have won a global audience over purely by the music and the big, welcoming soulfulness of its creators.  Since the 1987 release of the international hit single "Bamboleo," the Gipsy Kings have sold more than 14 million albums worldwide with more than four million in the United States alone. They are one of the most popular non-English performing groups in the states where their recordings and live performances continue to earn critical and popular praise.

Over two decades into their career, the Gipsy Kings' sound continues to evolve and remains vital.  The group has released 15 albums with Pasajero as their most recent.  The Gipsy Kings continue to
