Reigning CMA and ACM Vocal Duo of the Year Sugarland will launch their sixth consecutive headlining tour entitled "In YOUR Hands" Tour 2012 with a stop at The Greek Theatre, LA on May 22 with special guests Lauren Alaina and Canaan Smith.  The tour will rely solely on fan interaction and requests to determine the set list played in each city.  Specific guidelines and instructions will be coming soon on www.sugarlandmusic.com.

"This year's tour is based around the concept of putting the show into the hands of the fans," said Nettles. "THEY will make the requests that will help form the set list and guide the show. Through texts, handwritten signs, the Internet (Twitter, Facebook, etc) phone calls made during the show and selections directly from the stage, the fans will become the conductors as well as the audience. If it's on one of our records or if we've played it on a stage it is fair game."

Sugarland has reached over 15 million in worldwide sales and achieved eight #1 singles since exploding onto the music scene in '04 with Twice The Speed Of Life. Singer/songwriter Canaan Smith will release his debut album via Mercury Records in 2012. His touching debut single "We Got Us" is at radio now. Canaan was one of the cast members of the 15th season of the hit CBS series The Amazing Race and his elimination with then girlfriend, Mika, was one of the most dramatic moments in that show's history. Also, the colonial Williamsburg, Virginian wrote the top 10 single "Runaway," for the band Love and Theft as well as "Me Without You" on the band's debut album, World Wide Open. He also wrote the Billy Ray Cyrus/Amy Grant duet "Stripes and Stars." Craig Morgan recently recorded Canaan's song "Up All Night Down In the South." Tenacious D describes the making of the album as "journey similar to that of Gandolph in The Lord of the Rings." Produced by the brilliant John Kimbrough, Rize Of The Fenix was recorded in the garage behind his LA home and features Jack Black and Kyle Gass (Tenacious D's core duo), performing with Dave Grohl (drums), John Spiker (bass, piano, organ) and John Konesky (electric guitar). Based on one of the most popular and beloved video game series of all time, "The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses Tour" is a spectacular concert that features live orchestral performances of theme music from Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda franchise. The unprecedented concert tour will perform at The Greek Theatre, LA on June 6th.

The name "Symphony of the Goddesses" refers not only to the concert program but also to the new four-movement symphony recounting the classic storylines from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time™, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker™, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess™, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past™. The concert also will highlight orchestral renditions of music from other series games, including The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening™ and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask™. The full orchestra will be conducted by Eímear Noone with arrangements by music director Chad Seiter.

Green Naugahyde was produced and engineered by Les Claypool in his personal studio, Rancho Relaxo, in Northern California, and features Claypool, long-time guitarist Larry LaLonde and drummer Jay Lane. Lane was in an early lineup of the band, and was also in Sausage, a 1994 reunion of the 1988 Primus lineup. Green Naugahyde expands on Primus' incomparable sound and also sees them bringing it into the next millennium. It is a cerebral and complex album that, like all of the band's output, is teeming with the band's signature blend of whimsy and underlying darkness.

For the past 27 years, Primus have followed in the footsteps of boundary-pushing artists like Frank Zappa and Pink Floyd to create some of the most original and inventive music in existence. Legendary composer and performer Yanni's contemporary symphonic music has inspired millions of fans around the world.  In concert, his passionate, soaring melodies and lush orchestration create a spirited and uplifting musical experience like no other.  Yanni kicks off a world tour on April 17 with a North American itinerary, which makes a stop at the San Jose Civic on July 24.

Following the completion of the North American dates, Yanni will tour South America in fall 2012.  In 2013, he will embark on a multi-city tour of China.

The April 17 start date for Yanni's world tour coincides with the CD and DVD release of Yanni: Live at El Morro, Puerto Rico (Sony Music),  capturing two sold-out concerts in December 2011 at the historic 16th-century Castillo San Felipe Del Morro in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  The dates were the first-ever performances at this recognized UNESCO Heritage Site, and the shows were filmed in high-definition and recorded in Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound.  Performing at the castle represented a 20-year dream come true for Yanni, building on the legacy of iconic global sites that have played host to his concerts including the Acropolis in Greece, the Taj Mahal in India, and the Forbidden City in China (he was the first western performer to play at the latter two).

Following the success of her 2011 tour with sold-out performances nationwide, Stephanie Miller's Sexy Liberal Tourwill appear on Saturday, July 28 at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood for one final engagement.  A portion of the evening's proceeds will go to the Trevor Project, the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services.  The show will also feature special guest stars to be announced later.

Miller explained the origins of her Sexy Liberal Comedy show, "This tour came from the desire to bring 'liberal' comedy to people yearning for intelligent humor in their geographic region.  People assume that 'progressive' and 'liberal' comedy and entertainment doesn't sell but since this tour launched, we have been proving the exact opposite." In less than eight months, Sexy Liberal grossed nearly $1 million and sold out each venue she played during her 2011 tour.

On August 4, the Rock'n'Blues Fest will stop at City National Grove of Anaheim featuring five well-known players who were initially inspired to pick up their instruments due to their love for rock and blues: Johnny Winter, Edgar Winter, Rick Derringer, Leslie West and Kim Simmonds.andquot;I think the blues will always be around,andquot; says legendary blues guitarist Johnny Winter, who will be performing as part of the Johnny Winter Band and headlining the Rock'n'Blues Fest tour. andquot;People need it.andquot;

As the story goes, five decades ago at the age of 17, Johnny went to see B.B. King in his home state of Texas, and requested a turn at the mic. King eventually gave in and handed his guitar to Johnny, who ended up getting a standing ovation for his performance. Needless to say, it wouldn't be long before Johnny had his own legion of followers.

In 1968, Johnny released his first solo album, The Progressive Blues Experiment, and the music world took notice. Twenty years and several successful solo albums later, he was inducted into the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame. In the late 70's, he collaborated with another blues legend, Muddy Waters, on three separate albums of Waters', including the Grammy-winning Hard Again (1977). Over the years, he put out approximately two dozen solo albums. In 2003, he was named as one of Rolling Stone magazine's 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time, and currently remains one of the top andquot;old schoolandquot; blues guitarists still touring.

Joining Johnny for the Rock'n'Blues Fest andquot;rideandquot; will be his younger brother, Edgar Winter, who has certainly met with considerable acclaim in his own right with such monster hits as andquot;Free Rideandquot; and the chart-topping rocker, andquot;Frankenstein.andquot;andquot;As far as I'm concerned, blues and jazz are the great American contributions to music,andquot; comments Edgar, who will be bringing the Edgar Winter Band along for the almost two-month trek.

A multi-instrumentalist (keyboards/sax/percussion) whose music encompasses many different genres including rock, blues, jazz and pop, Edgar first hit the national spotlight with his early recording of andquot;Tobacco Road,andquot; featured on his 1970 debut album, Entrance. Edgar would soon form the band White Trash and release two hit albums in '71 and '72 titled, Edgar Winter's White Trash and Roadwork. Hot on the heels of the certified gold album, Roadwork, Edgar would put together an entirely new outfit called The Edgar Winter Group that would originally feature guitarist Ronnie Montrose. The band's first effort, They Only Come Out at Night, would spawn both the hit singles, andquot;Free Rideandquot; and andquot;Frankenstein,andquot; and remain on the charts for an incredible 80 consecutive weeks. The pivotal album would eventually reach double-platinum status, selling more than 2 million copies. With over 20 albums and numerous collaborative efforts to his credit, Edgar Winter has not been satisfied to ride the wave of popular music stardom. His music has been featured in several major national television and radio and advertising campaigns. In addition, his music can be heard in no fewer than fifteen film and television projects.

Next on the bill is rock guitarist Rick Derringer, who's had an illustrious career as both a solo artist and critical band member.

Air guitarists will surely be out in force when Rick breaks into his well-known rock anthem, andquot;Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo.andquot; The song continues to be a staple on rock radio and was featured in several movies including The Spirit of '76, Rush, Stag, What A Girl Wants and the cult classic, Dazed and Confused. It's a little known fact that years before his success as a solo artist, Rick had a band at the age of 17 called The McCoys that had a #1 hit in 1965 called, andquot;Hang on Sloopy.andquot; The song would eventually be knocked out of the top spot by The Beatles' andquot;Yesterday.andquot; A year after its release, The McCoys would find themselves as the openers for the entire Rolling Stones American tour. Although written and recorded a few years earlier, Rick released his most famous version of the song in 1974 and never looked back... In 1977, he would appear on the last Led Zeppelin North American Tour. In the years to follow, Rick would perform with such artists as Alice Cooper (andquot;Under My Wheelsandquot;), Steely Dan (andquot;Show Biz Kidsandquot; and andquot;Chained Lightningandquot;), KISS, Todd Rundgren and Weird Al Yankovic among others including both Johnny and Edgar Winter.

From 1986 to 1992, Rick would tour with Cindy Lauper and co-write a song from her True Colors album titled, andquot;Calm Inside The Storm.andquot; Before embarking on last year's Hippiefest tour, Rick toured Europe with Ringo Starr as a member of Ringo's All-Starr Band.

Although perhaps best known as a founding member of the band Mountain, guitarist Leslie West began his musical career with an Randamp;B/Blue-eyed soul rock outfit called The Vagrants, who would quickly enjoy a few hits. Shortly after the formation of Mountain with bass guitarist/producer Felix Pappalardi, keyboardist Steve Knight and drummer N.D. Smart in 1969, the band would find themselves performing on day two of the legendary Woodstock festival in August of that year. Not too long after the event, new drummer Corky Laing would join the fold and the band would release their first Billboard Top 40 single, andquot;Mississippi Queen.andquot; The rest is rock history as the song would be played on rock radio for years to come. Mountain would follow-up that hit with the Jack Bruce-penned, andquot;Theme for an Imaginary Western,andquot; one of the eleven songs they performed at Woodstock. Considered one of the pioneers of heavy metal, Rolling Stone magazine once identified them as a andquot;louder version of Cream.andquot; In the early seventies, Mountain would temporarily disband with Leslie and Corky collaborating with Creem bassist Jack Bruce for a cutting-edge group called West, Bruce and Laing. In 1976, West would play guitar for the track, andquot;Bo Diddley Jamandquot; on Diddley's 20th Anniversary of Rock'n'Roll all-star album. In 2005, he contributed to Ozzy Osbourne's Under Cover album, performing guitar on a remake of andquot;Mississippi Queen.andquot; The following year, he immersed himself in the blues, once again, with his latest solo album titled, Blue Me, on the Blues Bureau International label. Later that year (2006), he would be honored by being inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame. In addition to fronting Mountain, Leslie continues to record and perform on his own.

Considered one of the architects of British blues, Kim Simmonds began performing professionally in London in the mid-60's after learning how to play guitar by listening to his brother's blues records as a teenager. As leader and founder of the legendary blues rock band, Savoy Brown, he has 49 album releases currently available and continues to tour all over the world with the band as well as a solo acoustic act. In 1967, the band would help propel the UK blues boom movement that brought blues music back to the United States, invigorating the style forever. In the process, Savoy Brown became part of the framework that launched the rock and roll music of the 1970's, with their vast influence stretching into modern rock as we know it today. In 2011, the band celebrated its 45th anniversary by releasing a new CD titled, Voodoo Moon. Later in the year, Kim would release his most recent effort, Out Of The Blue, a collection of varied material that placed him in a new setting as both singer and songwriter. Among the most loved, most respected and longest running of its genre, Savoy Brown is one of the magical names in blues rock. Kim Simmonds will be performing the best of the best at this year's Rock'n'Blues Fest.

Due to their close involvement with each other throughout their careers, it's likely that various artists on the forthcoming Rock'n'Blues Fest will unite on stage to perform some unexpected classic songs together.

For the first time in Amon Tobin's career, he is now capable of delivering a truly groundbreaking visual experience that matches the scale of his renowned musical explorations. The avant-garde producer has officially stepped away from previous DJ-centric performances, and developed an entirely unique large-scale live show that expands on the concepts behind his most recent body of work: his seventh full-length studio album, 'ISAM'. Re-drawing and blurring the lines between psychedelia and sci-fi, between art and entertainment, between sound design and melody, with 'ISAM' Tobin created his finest, most intense work yet, a crowning achievement in the process that he describes as "re-ordering the things around me."

An all-encompassing visual onslaught - abstract narrative, subtle and bombastic - ISAM Live uses projection mapping, generative/audio reactive real time and pre-rendered elements combined with custom software to control the show. The visual elements have been synched to the 'ISAM' album to create an interactive, next level HD experience.

The show features a stunning 25' x 14' x 8' multi-dimensional/ shape shifting 3-D art installation that surrounds Tobin, enveloping both him and the audience in a beyond 3-D experience. Situated within the installation, Tobin performs the music as a navigator of a large craft through a surreal visual epic.

ISAM Live, the spectacular audio-visual experience that stunned the world in 2011 will return in 2012 with an even more ambitious and stimulating global tour, starting with Coachella (April 20, 2012) and a prestigious run throughout North America this Autumn. In-between, ISAM Live will make its way back to London at the Brixton Academy in May. This tour will feature a more theatrical production with video and additional musicians, including Ian's band: bassist David Goodier, keyboardist John O'Hara, drummer Scott Hammond, and wunderkind guitarist Florian Opahle-- all of whom have performed with Ian on his solo dates over the years as well as having performed at various times as members of Jethro Tull.

Ian's new album, THICK AS A BRICK 2 (TAAB2) also features David, John, Scott, and Florian. It was produced by Ian Anderson and mixed by Porcupine Tree's Steven Wilson (who also re-mixed Jethro Tull's AQUALUNG-Special Edition, released this past fall.)

TAAB2 answers the question 40 years later, whatever happened to Gerald Bostock (the person credited with writing the lyrics for THICK AS A BRICK, which hit number one on the US Billboard Pop Albums chart. With the first THICK AS A BRICK, Jethro Tull broadened rock beyond the limitations of the short song format).  Ian Anderson says "Part two" gave him a chance to wonder, "How we baby-boomers look back on our own lives, and often feel an occasional 'what-if' moment. Might we, like Gerald, have become instead preacher, soldier, down-and-out shopkeeper or finance tycoon?"  

Since 1972, the original THICK AS A BRICK has never been performed in its entirety although a few minutes of the material have been a regular repertoire staple in both Tull and IA solo shows over the years.

GROUP TO RECORD FOURTH LP THIS SUMMER

ATCO/Atlantic recording group Straight No Chaser has announced details for their upcoming #SNClive Fall 2012 Tour with a stop at the Pantages Theatre on Friday, November 30. 

Straight No Chaser who was featured on the "Generation YouTube" episode of ABC's 20/20 is using the tour to continue expanding on their social media interaction with fans.  The group credits a large amount of its success to its early adoption and encouragement of sharing content.   "This group started because of a viral video on YouTube," explains group member Randy Stine.  "From day one, we have encouraged fans to upload photos and videos from our shows, even expanding venue photo policies to ensure that this was possible.  We are excited to really drive home the idea of building a fan community around content by naming our tour #SNCLive." As its name suggest, #SNClive will be a multi-platform concert event, with the hashtag giving fans a way to search and categorize content specific to this tour across all social media platforms.  

The tour will follow seven shows this summer and the first ever Straight No Chaser Cruise CHASERS AT SEA on the Carnival Destiny.  Leaving port from Miami on October 11th, fans will travel to Key West, FL and Cozumel, Mexico, returning on October 14.  For more information about CHASERS AT SEA visit www.snccruise.com. 

PBS will also continue to support Straight No Chaser by airing their highly successful TV special, SONGS OF THE DECADES, during the June and Fall pledge periods. The special shows Straight No Chaser taking a musical journey through the pop songbook, from doo-wop to contemporary pop, all performed with the distinctive SNC twist and filmed during the group's exclusive summer concert engagement at Harrah's Resort Atlantic City in 2011.

In addition to their cruise and upcoming dates, Straight No Chaser will be going into the studio this summer to record their fourth full-length album, which is set to be released this fall. More details on the upcoming album will be released in the coming months.
