And when asked why the band decided to retire after all these years together, SCHENKER stated, "We want to celebrate [with] a big party around the world.andnbsp;andnbsp; We've had a really great career, coming out from Germany and showing people that rock can come out of Germany. <ned:bio>Rufus Wainwright will perform at The Greek Theatre in support of his latest release All Days Are Nights: Songs For Lulu on Friday, August 20 with special guest Martha Wainwright.

Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Rufus Wainwright introduces his forthcoming album All Days Are Nights: Songs For Lulu (Decca/Universal Music Group) featuring original video art by Douglas Gordon. In addition to designing the album cover, Gordon has also completed an exclusive video-piece for Wainwright's upcoming World Tour and recently hosted a show at London's Tate Museum. In this collaboration, Gordon's visual language expresses the passion of sorrow, a re-surfacing theme of the twelve songs on Wainwright's most personal album to date.

All Days Are Nights: Songs For Lulu is the artist's sixth studio album and first new release in three years. The cover features a dark eye drenched in mascara and black eye shadow and depicts Wainwright's eye, which was inspired by film scenes from such classics as G.W. Pabst's Pandora's Box (1929). The Scottish artist and filmmaker chose the close-up shot of Wainwright's left eye as the visual accompaniment to the album that in a simple, yet powerful way, unites his piano and voice.

This tour will be unlike any other for the musician: It will be the first time he performs his music with such intimacy while utilizing a sophisticated onstage production andquot; After hiding behind a 70-piece orchestra with my opera you can blame everything on the tuba player. With this album, when the curtain is raised it's me on my own, andquot; says Wainwright. Their unique collaboration will culminate live as Gordon has completed a 10-metre wide projection that will be used as the backdrop of the stage during the show. The video-piece shows Wainwright's eye in motion and is manually adjusted to precisely fit the variable duration of each specific performance, allowing the audience to see every pupil-dilation, blink and tear, up close and to empathize with the mood of the performance.

Rufus Wainwright, the son of musicians Kate McGarrigle and Loudon Wainwright III has just written and composed his first opera, andquot;Prima Donnaandquot; and has released six studio albums and three DVDs to date. It bristles with the kind of energy that earmarked the hit singles invented on the fly at Stax Records, the historic and spiritual prototype for Electraphonic, where musicians of multiple generations work side-by-side creating soul-driven anthems for the brokenhearted, the unrequited, and the overlooked.

After 25 million albums sold, 13 Grammy Award nominations, two Emmy Awards, two American Music Awards, and 18 MTV Video Music Awards, Cyndi Lauper continues to lead as a singer, songwriter, musician, actress, and activist. In 2009, the long-time actress appeared on such red-hot television shows as 30 Rock, Gossip Girl, Bones, and American Idol (performing with contestant Allison Iraheta), and was a surprise guest at the resurrected concert event "VH1 Divas." The 16-city tour will make a stop at the Santa Barbara Bowl on Sunday, September 5.

Both artists are beloved across the globe for their hauntingly beautiful vocals and evocative songs and, as a result, the tour will undoubtedly leave fans counting down the minutes to this must see live experience. During their co-headlining U.S. tour, concert-goers will be treated to both singer-songwriters' fusion of acoustic tunes and passionate, powerful ballads.

Released in the U.S. on September 22nd, David Gray's 8th studio album, Draw The Line (Downtown/Mercer Records), is his most captivating work to date. The album is the rich, warm, organic sound of David Gray being reborn and begins a new chapter in the storytelling for which he is known. The album's first single, "Fugitive," was #1 on AAA for 12 consecutive weeks, while the latest single, "Stella the Artist," continues to climb the chart and is quickly approaching Top 10 at the format. Gray began writing the album in 2007 and the result is a glorious, life-affirming collection, brimming with hooks and imagery. <ned:bio>Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and political activist Serj Tankian will bring his Imperfect Harmonies World Tour with The F.C.C. and additional ensemble to The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on Saturday, September 18. Tankian will release a new solo album, entitled Imperfect Harmonies, on Serjical Strike/Reprise Records on September 7th, 2010. The album is the second solo release from the System Of A Down frontman, following up his critically acclaimed 2007 solo debut Elect the Dead. As with Elect the Dead, Tankian produced Imperfect Harmonies himself at his home studio in Los Angeles.

"Where Elect the Dead was essentially a rock record with progressive melodic elements," Tankian says. "Imperfect Harmonies could be classified as rock because it is punchy with many peaks throughout, but the instrumentation is somewhat different. Though there are live drums, bass, and some guitars, the driving aspects are electronic and orchestral. It's quite unique in its sound palette. This is, in essence, music that has sat in the vat and matured to a ripe sensation and is now ready to serve."

Imperfect Harmonies is as powerful and musically eclectic as its predecessor. "I have been calling the music 'electro-orchestral-jazz-rock' because it has all of those aspects in prominence within the songs," Tankian says. "A few are more stripped down, but the majority of the songs have this huge wall of sound presented in a way I've never heard before. It's not common to have a song that is both electronic and orchestral since one is synthetic and the other organic, but I found a way of meshing a lot of these colors together."

The album has been influenced by Tankian's experience making Elect the Dead Symphony, a symphonic interpretation of his debut that had its inaugural performance in New Zealand with the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra in March 2009. The performance has been captured on the CD/DVD Elect the Dead Symphony. "The making of Elect the Dead Symphony gave me the confidence and tools to create ensemble pieces for orchestra more confidently and effectively than before," Tankian says. "And that became one of the primary colors for this record along with electronic, jazz, and live instrumentation."

Tankian has a series of upcoming live Elect the Dead Symphony shows planned for the summer, as well as the kickoff to the Imperfect Harmonies World Tour in August with a series of European festivals and headlining shows, including appearances at Belgium's Pukkelpop and the Leeds and Reading festivals in the U.K.</ned:bio>

The album was awarded the Best Alternative Music Album Grammy at the 52nd Grammy Awards. Rolling Stone and Spin Magazine both declared Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix the 3rd best album of 2009.

The four men of Phoenix, Laurent Brancowitz (guitar) and his bandmates Thomas Mars (vocals), Christian Mazzalai (guitar) and Deck D'Arcy (keyboards/bass), are a close-knit group of childhood friends from Versailles and have deep roots in the modern French music scene. The band released their debut, United in 2000 featuring the two singles "If I Ever Feel Better" and "Too Young." <ned:bio>Fearless comedian Margaret Cho will bring her 'Cho Dependent' tour to the Grove of Anaheim on Thursday, September 23.

Revered for her crass in-your-face style, Margaret Cho burst onto the scene in 1994 and has since become one of the most prolific, critically acclaimed comedians of our time. In 1999, she chronicled her legendary struggles with network executives over her weight and ethnicity into a groundbreaking one-woman show; I'm The One That I Want, praised by Entertainment Weekly as one of the "Great Performances of the Year!" In her following stand-up concert tours and films Margaret has tackled the axis of evil, homophobia, the joy of bodily functions, and of course, her now world-famous mother.

Margaret Cho's new show is a healthy mix of new stand-up and live music. In the spirit of Cho's diverse identity and equally diverse career, CHO DEPENDENT features her burgeoning foray into the realm of comedy music. Cho will be showcasing a few songs from her forthcoming album, CHO DEPENDENT, (to be released on August 24th) which features collaborations with Tegan and Sara, Ani DiFranco, Andrew Bird, Jon Brion, Grant Lee Phillips, and more. Music is a new endeavor for the provocative comedian, who's built a cult following through tours, concert films and TV specials. Cho's fifth stand up concert film, Beautiful, is now available on Showtime and DVD, and Cho also stars in the new dramatic hit TV series, Drop Dead Diva on Lifetime. Cho's new stand up show, CHO DEPENDENT, features her trademark raunchy, socially relevant and politically-charged comedy, and also offers a unique chance to see her perform a handful of songs from her new comedy music album, CHO DEPENDENT.</ned:bio>

The serene woods of Northern Minnesota and the band's native Carolinas inspired the songwriting, lending the compositions an air of comfort and familiarity.

Band of Horses are Ben Bridwell, Creighton Barrett, Ryan Monroe, Tyler Ramsey and Bill Reynolds. Long time touring members of the group, Infinite Arms marks the recording debut of Ramsey and Reynolds, while Barrett and Monroe graced the last album, Cease to Begin. Through touring together in support of Cease to Begin and during breaks in the Infinite Arms recording process, the band have become a cohesive force with all members making invaluable contributions to the unmistakable sound that founder Bridwell has crafted since the band's inception. <ned:bio>GRAMMY Award-winning singer-songwriters Donald Fagen, Michael McDonald and Boz Scaggs are uniting this summer and fall to tour as "The Dukes of September Rhythm Revue," and will bring their unique show to The Greek Theatre, LA on September 29. The three hit-making artists have assembled a stellar band for the occasion, and will bring the best of their mix of blue-eyed soul, rock, jazz and RandB to the stage in a series of collaborative concerts.

Donald Fagen explains the genesis of the tour, "Back in the early 90s, my wife (Libby Titus) was producing little shows in Manhattan restaurants featuring mostly friends - musicians, comedians and so on. This grew into 'The New York Rock and Soul Revue' which toured nationally for two years and produced an album, Live at the Beacon Theater. The 1993 show featured, among others, Mike McDonald, Boz Scaggs and myself. The shows were such a blast that we decided to tour together again this year as the mighty 'Dukes of September.' We'll be playing the kind of RandB tunes that made us want to be musicians way back when, as well as select numbers from our personal repertoires. We've enlisted a swell group of players and singers - in fact, I'm so excited that I just can't hide it. Be there or be square, chillin'."

Boz Scaggs continues, "This time around, we're going a little farther afield with our trio, but the setlist in progress reflects the basic approach which is: out of the hundreds of songs we've picked out of the hat, what are the gems and how can we fit it all into a two hour show? How about Mike McDonald singing 'Hurt So Bad' by Little Anthony or doing Ray's 'Tell the Truth' or Donald Fagen doing David Ruffin's "My Whole World Ended"? And I might get to do Mink DeVille's 'Cadillac Walk' or some Curtis Mayfield. What I know for sure is that I'll have the best seat in the house."

Michael McDonald states, "The music of Donald Fagen (with Walter Becker) and Boz Scaggs figures heavily in memories of my early years in California. Having the privilege to take the stage with them, two of my all time favorite artists, is one thing; but because they're guys that I've shared such an ongoing history with, this makes it all the more special for me. I only hope it's nearly as much fun for the audience."

With this year's "The Dukes of September Rhythm Revue," Fagen, McDonald and Scaggs are giving fans an unprecedented opportunity to hear them delve deep into their individual classic catalogs of music, along with selected hits and tributes to their influences accompanied by a crack group of top players including Jon Herington (guitar); Freddie Washington (bass); Michael White (drums); Michael Leonhart, Walt Weiskopf and Jay Collins (horns); Jim Beard (organ); plus background singers Carolyn Escoffery and Catherine Russell.</ned:bio>

Upon returning from the army, these individuals decided to use their experiences to inspire resilience to the men and women who serve their country through song. "There are very few things in life that can actually move you and music is one of those things" says former Sergeant David Clemo. "These songs hopefully will help with that healing and help people deal with whatever stresses they went through."

The music of 4 Troops is storytelling at its best. Their music shares their personal stories about the ongoing war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Not only does it give the average civilian a better understanding into the sacrifices it takes to defend the country, it also speaks to military families directly. "I look out into the audience and ninety percent of them have tears in their eyes" says former Sergeant Daniel Jens. The audience's immediate reaction to the 4 Troops is a testament to their stirring live performance.</ned:bio>

These recordings are also significant because they mark the first time Widespread Panic asked their fans, who are regularly permitted to record and circulate live performances, to refrain from recording these particular shows. Live in the Classic City II will mark the first time that these performances have been made available, and even heard if you weren't there.

Live in the Classic City II includes special guests Mike Mills (R.E.M.), percussionist Arvin Scott, producer John Keane and vocalists Daniel Hutchens and Anne Richmond Boston.
