In the '90s his appearances on In Living Color and The Jamie Foxx Show snowballed into an incredible music and film career. Subsequent releases included the live Gregg Allman Tour '74, Playin' Up A Storm (1977), and I'm No Angel (1987) which generated a #1 Album Radio hit with the unforgettable title track, a self-meditation on Allman's often bad-boy ways. Melodically charged hits "Cable Car (Over My Head)" and the title track worked their way onto the radio and into the hearts of fans-not to mention onto the soundtrack of TV phenom "Grey's Anatomy." Throw in a trio of Grammy nominations, and you've got the kind of outof- the-gate explosion that any young artist would envy.

The band took their art very seriously when beginning to work in earnest on a new record in the summer of 2007. Their self-titled second album was released in February 2009-and the first single "You Found Me" has maintained a Top 10 position on the Billboard Top 100 chart since its debut. Like the Fray's organic beginning in 2002, "You Found Me" begins quietly. Slade is at his piano, contemplating a soul lost and found. And like the band's rise in recent years, the song evolves from something intimate into something huge, a haunting guitar-and-drums opus, with Slade's anguished singing making for an unshakeable experience. And that's just one track.

Don't miss your chance to see The Fray with special guests Jack's Mannequin and Vedera at the Santa Barbara Bowl on Friday, July 31, 2009.</ned:bio>

Finely wrought and full of wit, wisdom and Texas-sized storytelling, the veteran singer/songwriter's catalog is rife with characters and concepts that loom large on the American landscape.

Lyle Lovett is a four time Grammy winner and has led a remarkable career which includes 13 albums and over four million records sold. His music uniquely intersects an array of genres from country and folk to bigband swing and traditional pop as evidenced by such revered albums as Lyle Lovett, Pontiac, Lyle Lovett and His Large Band, Joshua Judges Ruth and The Road To Ensenada. It's Not Big It's Large, Lovett's latest collection, has been one of the most acclaimed efforts of his career. The album contains big, contemporary themes, but it is Lovett's gift to make the deep thoughts slide down like honey. USA Today heralded his "Texas-sized cowboy jazz," as the Wall Street Journal declared Lovett has "been widening the reach of country music for over 20 years," while praising the "dozen new tracks that touch on country and folk as well as blues jazz and gospel." The memorable songs include "I Will Rise Up/Ain't No Cane," the poignant "South Texas Girl," the infectious, upbeat "Up in Indiana." and the rueful ballad "Don't Cry a Tear."

For the last few years, Lovett, who is able to conjure musical magic in a variety of settings, has been alternating Large Band tours with acoustic trio and quartet shows or teaming with Hiatt as well as larger songwriter circles also featuring Hiatt, Guy Clark and Joe Ely.

Don't miss Lyle Lovett and His Large Band with special guest Madeleine Peyroux at the Greek Theatre on August 7. <ned:bio>The 2nd annual Go Country 105 "Summer Under the Stars" concert will return to the Greek Theatre on Sunday, August 9. Headlining this year is country sensation Rodney Atkins; Jack Ingram and the Eli Young Band will support.

There's a very good reason that no less than four songs from Rodney Atkins' platinum-selling 2006 album If You're Going Through Hell became No. 1 hits-a feat that no one had accomplished since 2002. It's the same reason that two of those songs became the most-played of 2006 ("If You're Going Through Hell [Before the Devil Even Knows]") and 2007 ("Watching You"), and why concert audiences all over the country are cheering him on and singing along. The reason is that Atkins has a rare gift for reflecting the lives of his listeners in his music-their hopes, their concerns, their spirit, their adversities, even their sense of humor. Simply put, as he sang in another chart-topping smash, "These Are My People." Rodney Atkins understands regular lives because he still leads one. "People always talk about image-'You're the guy in the ball cap, the All-American country boy,'" says Atkins. "But if the songs don't connect with the folks listening, then none of that stuff matters."

In addition to the overwhelming radio and video airplay, Rodney Atkins earned the Academy of Country Music's Top New Male Vocalist award, plus five other ACM nominations and two Country Music Association nominations. He performed for a half-million people at the National Memorial Day concert in Washington, D.C. and toured with the superstar likes of Brad Paisley, Brooks and Dunn, Martina McBride and ZZ Top.

Don't miss your chance to see some of the hottest artists in country music today when Rodney Atkins, Jack Ingram and the Eli Young Band</ned:bio>

<ned:bio>Singer-songwriter Jackson Browne will bring his Time The Conqueror World Tour to North America for a two-month summer 2009 leg kicking off July 7-8 and making its Los Angeles stop at the Greek Theatre on August 12.

"An Evening with Jackson Browne," returns to the States -following legs in Australia, New Zealand, the U.K. and Europe- and will bring the world tour full circle. It launched with an initial U.S. leg last September coinciding with Browne's 60th birthday and the release of Time The Conqueror, his first studio set since 2002. The new album is out on the artist's own independent label Inside Recordings, and was produced by Browne and Paul Dieter. Upon its release, MOJO wrote, "Browne delivers elegantly considered weight and truth...His grand yet unpretentious imagery shows why he's admired by such diverse peers as Springsteen and Randy Newman...Throughout, his band plays with subdued beauty and Browne sings with resonant grace."

The Time The Conqueror World Tour-which spotlights material from the new album as well as careerspanning favorites-had its opening night with a Washington, DC concert in fall '08, when the Washington Post said, "The new material demonstrated that Browne, just a few weeks shy of 60, still has a terrific touch...Browne thanked the audience for having indulged him. He needn't have: The pleasure was ours." Of another '08 show, the Boston Herald wrote, "Hail the 'Conqueror,' Jackson Browne triumphs at Orpheum." Accompanying Browne on the road is his band of fifteen years: Kevin McCormick (bass), Mark Goldenberg (guitars), Mauricio Lewak (drums) and Jeff Young (keyboards, backing vocals). They have been with Browne since 1993's I'm Alive, playing on Looking East ('96) and The Naked Ride Home ('02) as well. For Time The Conqueror, they're joined by new members Chavonne Morris and Alethea Mills, vocalists Browne met in 2001 when they were attending Washington Preparatory High School in South Los Angeles and singing with Fred Martin and The Levite Camp.

Prior to Time The Conqueror, Browne's most recent releases were two live albums recorded on solo acoustic tours in the U.S., the U.K. and Australia. The GRAMMY®-nominated Jackson Browne Solo Acoustic, Vol. 1 ('05) and Vol. 2 ('08)-both available on Inside-feature Browne alternately on piano and guitar, performing songs from his entire career, ranging from hits to rarities. In his four-star review of Vol. 2 for Rolling Stone, Anthony DeCurtis wrote, "This is Browne at his best, engaging his audience, his own experiences and the world around him, all in songs that will not lose their resonance any time soon."

Since his acclaimed 1972 self-titled debut album, Jackson Browne has defined a genre of songwriting and performing that is charged with honesty, emotion and personal politics. Two of his albums, Late For the Sky and The Pretender, are on Rolling Stone's list of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time." He's been recognized with inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (2004) and the Songwriter's Hall of Fame (2007), with recent humanitarian honors including the John Steinbeck Award and the Chapin-World Hunger Year Harry Chapin Humanitarian Award. In January of this year, Browne was part of the celebrations surrounding the inauguration of President Barack Obama, performing at the Health for All Blue Diamond Ball at the Smithsonian Institution's Natural History Museum.

Come out to enjoy an evening with Jackson Browne when he performs at the Greek Theatre on August 12!</ned:bio>

Polo Polo began his career in 1972 in a small club in Mexico City's "Zona Rosa" district. His following quickly grew and he went from a bigger nightclub, Keops to performing at the Crown Plaza, Mexico City's largest showroom. Polo Polo set the record for the most consecutive sold out shows and the longest run of shows at the venue. A record that still stands today. His debut album, Viaje a España, was a collection of live material from his Mexico City shows. Due to its racy content, Viaje a España didn't receive much radio airplay but the album still became a huge hit and went on to sell over 100,000 copies.

Polo Polo's first U.S. appearance was in 1988. His popularity in the U.S. has grown steadily since and he returns to the states annually to perform for his ever-increasing fanbase. This is a show, you don't want to miss!</ned:bio>

I was inspired to do this record because of my trip last year to Brazil," says Krall.

As moving as Quiet Nights is-deriving from Krall's feelings for Brazil and bossa novas-the singer is not shy in admitting that its sensuality is as much about her home life. "It's my love letter to my husband-just an intimate, romantic album. "As they say in Rio-obrigado!</ned:bio>

Tom has sustained his popularity for more than four decades. Born Thomas Jones Woodward in Pontypridd, South Wales, Great Britain on June 7, 1940, his father worked the coalmines of the Rhondda Valley, while his mother tended the house and the two children. After marrying at 17, Tom went on to sign with Decca Records in London.

Tom has a fundamental interest in a wide range of musical expression. Although he is best known for hits including "Kiss," "Delilah" and "If I Only Knew" he is first and foremost a rocker with a true rhythm and blues soul. He has remained a vital recording artist, with his 1999 album Reload the biggest selling (5m) of his then 35-year career and his key involvement in Martin Scorsese's Red White and Blues series for PBS. His latest musical offering, 24 Hours (S Curve/November 2008), is his first album release in the US for 15 years and has been nominated as "possibly a career best", with many of the self-penned tracks being an insightful reflection of his life thus far. The album also includes "Sugar Daddy" which was specially written for Tom by U2's Bono, and an emotionally wrenching re-make of Bruce Springsteen's "The Hitter".

His 40-year career has seen highlights including receiving a BRIT Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music, a Silver Clef Award for Lifetime Achievement, and in 2009 the "Hitmaker" award from the US Songwriters Hall of Fame. He has been animated as himself in The Simpsons, Duck Dodgers and The Emperors New Groove. Other film roles have included parts in Mars Attacks! and Agnes Brown.

The live reviews of Tom's shows have been stellar. Vanity Fair exclaimed, "The audience-a mix of ages and seemingly spanning the spectrum from true believers to ironists-was eager to be taken for a ride, or maybe be just run over. And so we were. Wham, bam, thank you, sir!!'' while The New York Times said, "[His] strategic secret is that while he has a big voice, he applies it lightly, even glancingly, opening it up only at peak moments. His set at Terminal 5 was a one-man variety show...and he sang..with knowing smiles and rakish aplomb." Tom was knighted by Her Majesty the Queen in 2006 and enjoys a consistent touring schedule throughout the year.</ned:bio>

He found early inspiration in country musicians, such as Hank Williams, who his father liked to listen to on the radio. His 1989 album, Heart Shaped World, featuring the smash single, "Wicked Game" became a hit on the Billboard charts and earned Isaak widespread fame. Now an accomplished musician, actor and television personality, Isaak maintains a vigorous touring schedule, stars in critically acclaimed films and is the host of his own weekly talk show, "The Chris Isaak Hour" on the Biography Channel.

His latest release Mr. Lucky is his first non-holiday studio album since 2002. Filled with his distinctive, sweetly moody, slyly sexy retro-pop, Isaak's fans will consider themselves fortunate that new music from their Mr. Lucky has finally arrived. The Hollywood Reporter said of the album, "It seems impossible that it's been seven years since Chris Isaak's last set of all-new songs. But Mr. Lucky makes up for lost time with 14 gems that showcase his sharp vocal stylings, particular brand of countrified pop music and (given his sex appeal) an equally impossible-to-believe preponderance of romantic heartbreak."</ned:bio>

<ned:bio>This summer just got a whole lot hotter, harder, faster and louder.
THE PEDAL TO THE METAL TOUR 2009, featuring MUDVAYNE and BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, will make its way to the San Jose Civic Auditorium on Friday, August 28 at 6 PM. Tickets go on sale Saturday, June 13 at 10 AM. Pre-sale tickets are available to all of the bands' fan club members beginning Wednesday, June 10, at 12pm local time at www.pedaltothemetaltour.com (website will go live June 10).

"The tour started as a summer tour with us and Black Label Society, but as we started fleshing out ideas, it transformed into this really cool concept," says Mudvayne frontman Chad Gray. The final result is the inaugural run of THE PEDAL TO THE METAL TOUR, a road ready and battle-proven assemblage of hard rock and heavy metal bands guaranteed to raise temperatures and melt asphalt over the summer months. "We're really excited, because this package is a merging of great bands, good people and fucking amazing fans. It'll be great to bring them all together."

"I was looking forward to a full throttle assault with just Mudvayne this summer, but when Chad said 'Let's do more,' I was all-in." declares Zakk Wylde, the iconic and self professed General Patton of Black Label Society. Adding, "On behalf of JD, Craig, Nick, the Doom Crew Inc. and myself, we can't wait to see our Black Label family and the entire Black Label nation once again, rollin' through hell and destroying everything in our path! Fire up the barbecues, fire up the tunes, and get ready for the rest of your Pedal To The Metal family to fire it up and let the engines roll... Game m-f-'n on!"

Says Static-X frontman Wayne Static of the tour: "I'm very picky about who we tour with. I think Static-X slaughter most bands live, and I pride myself in our show I refuse to open for a band that I don't think is worthy, so that says a lot about Mudvayne, Zakk Wylde, and this entire package."

THE PEDAL TO THE METAL TOUR will travel more than 12,000 miles of highway across America this summer, stopping in nearly three dozen cities over seven weeks.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
MUDVAYNE
Mudvayne are one of the most creative and distinctive bands in the aggressive music world, and one of the only acts in heavy music to hold the distinction of seeing every one of their five studio albums attain at least gold certification by the RIAA. Not bad for a band that never cared about following trends or playing to the masses. Latest release The New Game was released in November '08, and is a lesson in controlled chaos that tempers hard rock, heavy metal, prog rock and sadistic splatters of pop into an onslaught of metallic highs and emotional lows. Mudvayne have sold more than five million units worldwide, and performed for more than one million fans on every continent. They were nominated for "Best Metal Performance" at the 2005 Grammys, and also shared headlining status on that year's Ozzfest, performing immediately before Iron Maiden. The Pedal To The Metal Tour marks the next step in Mudvayne's live evolution.

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY
In the two decades since Ozzy Osbourne hired him away from his job at a New Jersey gas station to become his new guitarist, Zakk Wylde has established himself as a guitar icon known and revered the world over. He spawned his now legendary Black Label Society in 1994, and in the fifteen years since has turned the outfit into a heavy metal institution true to his vision of uncompromising, unfiltered and unrestrained rock and roll. Inspired by guitarists including Frank Marino, Robin Trower and Al DiMeola, as well as the vocal stylings of Elton John, Gregg Allman and late Lynyrd Skynyrd frontman Ronnie VanZant, Wylde has won every guitar award imaginable and is a major influence to the new wave of heavy metal guitarists. Wherever Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society travels, one thing is for certain: brewtality is sure to follow.

STATIC-X
Since the release of their Wisconsin Death Trip debut a decade ago, Static-X have sold more than three million records worldwide. Their latest opus, Cult of Static, was released in March and debuted in the Billboard Top 20, marking their most impressive first-week showing since 2001. Known for their high intensity fusion of metal mayhem and industrial fervor, Static-X have one of the most allegiant fan bases in heavy music. "I jokingly call it a cult, but our fans have that kind of loyalty," says frontman Wayne Static. "We're one of the biggest underground bands ever."

SUICIDE SILENCE
The winners of the Best New Talent award at the Revolver Golden God Awards in April, Suicide Silence have emerged at the forefront of the new wave of American heavy metal, and have sold more than 70,000 copies of their 2008 debut, The Cleansing. Hailed as one of the "100 bands you need to know about" by Alternative Press, their sophomore release No Time To Bleed will hit stores June 29, just in time for Pedal To The Metal 2009.

DOPE
Dope aren't the heaviest band on this summer's Pedal To The Metal tour, but they can stake a claim at being the most brutal: Their track "Die Mother Fucker Die" was on a short list of songs used by the United States government to aid in the interrogation of enemy combatants in the war against Iraq. They've sold more than one million albums in their decade-plus career, their latest release being last year's No Regrets.

BURY YOUR DEAD
Written and recorded in the wake of an accident last September that flipped and rolled the Bury Your Dead tour van, there was no shortage of inspiration for the bone-crunching and chest-pounding canons that mark new release It's Nothing Personal. Armed with grinding music, spitfire lyrics and melodic interludes, the album packs everything fans have come to expect from the New England metal-core veterans and, as always, a little bit more...

HELLZAPOPPIN
Hellzapoppin bill themselves as "The Greatest Show In Hell," delivering a burlesque and macabre flavored take on Barnum's more family-friendly sideshow attractions. Featuring a penguin boy, fire eating, sword swallowing and a self-professed torture king amongst their off-center oddities, the Hellzapoppin sideshow review promises to keep fans eerily entertained and darkly amused between sets on the Pedal To The Metal Tour 2009.</ned:bio>
