Gerardo Coronel

 

By the age of 14 “El Jerry,” born Gerardo Arriaga Coronel, in Apatzingan, Michoacan, lauched his career as a composer and performer by joining a band and writing his first corrido, “El Guerrero.” By the age of 16, looking to reinvent himself, Jerry left the band and began his own project “Gerardo Coronel.”

 

The career of “El Jerry” has thrived in the digital and social media landscape. His music has reached more than 5 million listeners on Spotify and garnered thousands of sales on iTunes, making him an in-demand artist with whom to collaborate among the regional Mexican genre. His song, “Te Deseo lo Mejor” released several years ago, has maintained its popularity on the radio, social networks and parties and has generated more than 60 million views on  YouTube. His song “VETE” has more than 70 million views on YouTube  and for several weeks charted at the top of the popularity charts for regional Mexican music. Another “El Jerry” fan favorite “Te Felicito” a song dedicated to heartbreak has had more than  156 million views on YouTube and has gone viral on TikTok. And his recent single, “Que Onda Perdida” already has more than 55 million views on YouTube for the original version and more than 41 million views in the version featuring  Grupo Firme.
