Event Details
After returning to sold-out and capacity crowds across Australia, Europe and North America, The Growlers have announced a landmark hometown performance at the legendary Greek Theatre on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
The show marks the band’s first Los Angeles headline performance in seven years, their debut at the historic Greek Theatre, and the largest single headline show of The Growlers’ career to date. Doors open at 6:30PM with the show beginning at 8:00PM. The event is all ages.
The show is officially announced today, Monday, May 11, 2026 at 10:00AM PT. Tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday, May 15 at 10:00AM PT via Ticketmaster.
The newly announced Los Angeles date arrives as The Growlers continue their long-awaited return to global touring for the first time since 2019. Following acclaimed runs through Australia, the UK and Europe earlier this year, the band’s North American tour resumes this September and October with a West Coast run culminating in the special hometown performance beneath the hills of Griffith Park.
The momentum has continued to build internationally as well. Next month, The Growlers head to Mexico City for a June 6 performance at Teatro Metropólitan — a show that sold out in a single day and now stands as the band’s biggest headline engagement ever in Mexico City.
Fronted by the compelling presence of Brooks Nielsen, The Growlers’ return opens a new chapter in a story rooted deeply in Southern California underground mythology. The band built a devoted global following by pioneering the “Beach Goth” aesthetic — a fluid mix of surf, garage rock, punk, psychedelia and pop — becoming legendary for early club and warehouse tours aboard their now-mythic school bus “Lizzie,” in the spirit of the Merry Pranksters’ Furthur.
Over the years, The Growlers have collaborated with artists and producers including Dan Auerbach and Julian Casablancas. Their evolution reached a high point with the Casablancas-produced album City Club, featuring the gold-certified single Night Ride, alongside fan-favorite releases like Chinese Fountain and its gold-certified anthem Going Gets Tough. With longtime drummer Richard Gowen now back in the fold, the chemistry that defined the band’s most celebrated live era has fully returned. While The Growlers stepped away from full touring after 2019, Nielsen remained prolific creatively, releasing five solo albums — One Match Left (2022), A Ride I’m Waiting For (2024), The Circle, Psycho & John Jones (2024), Chinese Fountain Live (2024), and Grain of Dirt (2025) — while performing hundreds of shows worldwide. That chapter culminated with two sold-out nights at the Hollywood Palladium in October 2025, setting the stage for The Growlers’ official return.
“These songs mean a lot to me — and to the people who’ve carried them all these years,” says Brooks Nielsen. “This tour is about celebrating the music, the band, and everyone who’s been part of the ride. There’s a special kind of joy that happens when the songs are played live — that connection between the music and the fans — and it’s something I’ve really missed. The Growlers have a deep catalog, hundreds of songs from many chapters, and it feels right to get back out there and honor that whole journey together.”
The Growlers’ resurgence also arrives with new music. Recent singles Feel My Funk and Crisis continue the band’s unmistakable blend of groove, grit and melody, while the recent archival release Beach Goth Tape reconnects longtime listeners to the raw spirit that first built the movement.
Now, after years away from Los Angeles stages, The Growlers return home for what promises to be one of the defining nights in the band’s history.
