LOS ANGELES, CA (June 11, 2021) – Nederlander Concerts has been selected to exclusively book and promote SOMO Concerts, a 3,000 capacity solar-powered outdoor venue in Sonoma County, California.  This multi-year agreement with concert venue manager Second Octave Entertainment will broaden the venue's marketing reach and booking capabilities with the independent promoter's national expertise.

“With the resurgence of the live entertainment industry, we are thrilled to expand our footprint and offer music and events to the fans of Sonoma County,” said Rena Wasserman, Nederlander Concerts Senior Vice President of Production & Operations. “As an independent concert promoter, we are always seeking new opportunities to compete more effectively and offer more routing options.  SOMO Concerts will be a great addition to our venue roster.”

Nederlander Concerts was ranked #7 in the United States by Pollstar Magazine for worldwide ticket sales in 2020, grossing nearly $30 million during one of the most devastating times in the live entertainment industry.  The family-owned promoter will present an annual series of music, comedy, and family entertainment events from April through November at the SOMO Concerts venue, effective immediately.

“We are excited about the opportunities Nederlander Concerts can bring to continue the growth of SOMO Concerts.  Their reputation, resources, and experience in the industry are important to us as we usher in this new era of entertainment and return to hosting events safely,” said Morty Wiggins, CEO of Second Octave Entertainment, LLC.

Since 2014, the venue has attracted various artists such as E-40, Lucinda Williams, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Ziggy Marley, Los Tigres del Norte, Billy Currington, Playboi Carti, and Social Distortion, among others.  SOMO Concerts offers a unique experience and supports local creativity, collaboration, and commerce in an intimate setting within SOMO Village at Rohnert Park.  The venue is equipped with a custom-designed 1,200 square foot stage and ample parking for guests.  This sustainably focused facility includes a special VIP area with redwood bleachers, local food vendors, all within a 1 ½ acre courtyard, and redwood grove, which is currently presenting the SOMO Grove Dinner and Music series.
